one of the first things she had heard on her first day in middle school. not exactly the most encouraging thing to hear either. she stood out in middle school, sharp features from her parents, and a wide face because she loved snack foods and ramen. it made her an easy target amongst all of the kids, but that was just kids being kids right? they'd get used to gyuri and she could be their friends one day. that's how it worked for everyone.
"i don't want to go to school today"
as it turned out, no they didn't have to accept her for anything. they could just bully her her. they could just keep talking about her. and she could just develop her "school allergy". it had turned into one day. then two days. then a week. then a week became a month. and then before she knew it she had been out of school for six months. it was just something that she didn't want to do. she didn't want to deal with the other kids talking about how she looked. if she went back, things would be different.
"i'm a goddess."
she had lost a lot of weight when she was out of school. even if it was only for six months, she had shed the pounds off. not eating does that for you. the only way she was convinced to back to school was if her parents allowed her to switch schools. and they did. she had a fresh start. she could be anyone she waned to, so she became a goddess. she became someone who was pretty, held her head above it all. she wasn't going to succumb to it anymore. she was a goddess and a goddess above it all.
"i'm going to be an artist"
ever since she had decided to be an artist, that was what gyuri's life was geared towards. she had gone to anyang art's school (and picked up piano, because she had to, really) and everything was geared towards getting into k-arts. however that wasn't what her parents wanted from her. they had told her "since we let you stay out of school for six months, and switched schools for you, you need to go to yonsei." and so she did. it wasn't her real choice, but it was what her parents wanted from her, and well, she did owe them. so that was her choice.
"my name? goddess" they had nicknames when she was rushing ZTA, she had one too, and before they could give her one, she told them quickly that she was a goddess. she wasn't one of the other girls who was going to let them walk over her, just because she was rushing. she was a goddess. and that was what helped her stand out amongst the other girls. it helped her get to vice president, and it helped her into presidential position today. she's tried t stray away from the goddess thing, but so far she hasn't had a lot of success with it.
